When it comes to conservation activities to sustain our fragile eco-system, our associates carry forward Coco Collection’s environmental philosophy with great passion. This month, several associates of Coco Bodu Hithi joined our Resident Marine Biologist to mark another Eco Day.
In the late afternoon of Friday, June 13, associates of Coco Bodu Hithi gathered at the invitation of Chiara Fumagalli, our Resident Marine Biologist, who gave an informative presentation about the Manta Ray and Sea Turtle Identification projects carried out by Coco Collection. At the end of this interactive session, everyone had a great time discussing some resident Manta Ray and Sea Turtle encounters and how they were identified.
After this informative session, associates headed out to collect their snorkeling gear and started the lagoon cleaning activities near the Water Villas. While looking for any debris to collect, they were naturally on the lookout for our Resident Hawksbill Turtles, and guess which superstar showed up?
Chloe (HK 270) is spotted often and has even been highlighted as 2013’s Sea Turtle of the year for Coco Bodu Hithi! When we spotted her during the lagoon cleaning, she was feeding on some carpet sea anemone and seemed more than happy to pose for some pictures.
The day ended with a fun Barbecue where all the associates joined to discuss the days’ encounters by sharing pictures and sharing this unique experience with their colleagues. We thank all our associates for the continuous support they show towards such projects and invite them to join in on more activities such as this Eco Day at Coco Bodu Hithi.
