Coral Nursery Planting

We completed another stage in our Coral Nursery Project

Planting coral nurseries is one of the many initiatives that we undertake at Coco Collection to further our conservation and sustainability efforts. This month, we are delighted to share with you the plantation of a brand new coral nursery at Coco Bodu Hithi.

The lagoon close by Villa 334 is quite shallow and we are unable to observe any natural coral growth here. To enrich submarine life in our lagoon, we decided to choose this area for one of our new coral nurseries, and on the afternoon of 23rd February 2014, our resident marine biologist Chiara Fumagalli and a few of our associates planted a brand new coral nursery structure in this area.

With the help of this new underwater structure we hope to support and attract the natural growth of corals in this area, so guests can admire even more of an active marine life around Coco Bodu Hithi. Our guests staying in Villa 334 have already been snorkeling in this area to visit the new coral structure. Maybe one day soon, visitors can admire a whole new marine garden right in front of their villa here!
